Join award winning multi-media artist Amanda Dawn Christie for a late night drink and chat. Amanda will be discussing her latest project, a 16mm film installation. Amanda will be offering demos, tips and tricks as well as a sneak peek, first screening of her project Where Ocean Meets Air.
To create this new work during her time in Charlottetown, she will be shooting and hand processing black and white 16mm film out at the Prince Edward Island shorelines, and then hand processing that footage in the darkroom at Holland College. She will then work with salt water from the ocean to intervene organically on the film's surface to create textures and distortions. Once the film footage has been shot, processed, and edited, the final installation will involve two film projectors each equipped with loop boxes, projecting the film onto treated surfaces.
Amanda's final project will be featured in Memorial Hall at the Confederation Centre of the Arts as part of Art in the Open on August 27, 2016.
Amanda's project is proudly supported by IMAC, Struts & Faucet, AFCOOP and LIFT
